Astrology: Pitru Dosha is considered to be an important dosha in Indian astrology, which arises when the souls of a person’s ancestors are not satisfied. It is believed that when the correct religious rituals like Shraddha, Tarpan or Pind Daan are not performed, the souls of the ancestors start causing troubles in the lives of their descendants. This dosha can affect various aspects of life such as health, wealth, marriage, and child happiness.

Symptoms of Pitru Dosha: When ancestors are not blessed

The following problems are observed in families suffering from Pitru Dosha:

  • Untimely death of the child shortly after birth.
  • Constant discord and unrest in the family.
  • Obstacles in marriage, or problems in married life.
  • Constant financial crisis or legal troubles.

All these symptoms are considered to be a sign that the souls of the ancestors are not satisfied and need respect and fulfillment. For this reason, on festivals like Diwali, people offer water, clothes and worship to the ancestors. Similarly, at the time of marriage, the groom's side demands certain special clothes (such as white clothes) for the ancestors from the bride's side. Families who follow these customs have fewer problems in life, while those who do not follow them have to face more difficulties.

When does Pitra Dosh arise in the horoscope?

To identify Pitra Dosh in the horoscope, it is necessary to pay attention to the following astrological conditions:

  • When the Sun, which represents the ancestors and the father, is in the shadow of Rahu, its positive influence is reduced.
  • Pitra Dosh arises when the Sun is placed with Rahu, Rahu aspects the Sun, or Rahu is placed in the fifth house (house of children).
  • If the Sun is in a constellation that is ruled by Rahu, or the lord of the fifth house is in the constellation of Rahu, then Pitra Dosh can also arise.
  • By looking at these planetary positions, astrologers determine Pitra Dosha, which is a sign of displeasure and unfinished karma of ancestors.

Relation between Pitra Dosha and Vastu Dosha

Pitra Dosha is not limited to the horoscope, but its effect can also be seen in the Vastu (structure of the house). Common Vastu Doshas associated with Pitra Dosha include:

  • Having a toilet in the north-east corner or the south-west corner.
  • Having a garbage can, drain, or filth in the south-west corner.
  • Having filth or heavy items in the south-west corner, which increases the negative energy of Rahu.
  • Having a Vastu Dosha in the leadership triangle (south-west area) causes problems in married life, and sometimes even divorce.

If there are constant fights in the house and there is no clear reason for them, it indicates that there is a Vastu Dosha in the leadership triangle of the house.

Remedies for Pitru Dosha

The following remedies can be done to get rid of Pitru Dosha:

  • Organizing Tarpan, Shradh and Pinddaan on Amavasya (new moon) days especially in Pitru Paksha.
  • Worshiping your Kuldevta and ancestors regularly.
  • Giving food, clothing and charity to the poor in the name of ancestors.
  • Following special Graha Shanti rituals and Vastu correction measures according to the horoscope.

If you or your family members are suffering from the symptoms of Pitru Dosha, then consulting an astrologer and taking appropriate remedies would be a good step. With the blessings of ancestors, many problems of life can be resolved automatically, and happiness and peace can prevail in life.
